Even during a recession, you still gotta eat, right? Well, every weekend you can chow for free at Foster's Urban Homeware, if you participate in the home warehouse's gratis cooking demonstrations. Each Saturday at 2pm, a local chef, cookbook author or famous foodie entertains and instructs audiences with themed lessons on cooking, then follows it up with a heavy dose of food samples cooked during the class. Once a month, the humorous ForkYou.tv all-about-food podcast is taped; other weeks are filled with appearances by chefs from restaurants like Memphis Taproom, Xochitl and Horizons. Demos last 45 minutes, no reservations are required.
