Ford to Release Parental Control Chip for Cars

Parents of teen drivers can breathe a little easier next year, when Ford Motor Company rolls out the first of its cars to sport a parental control chip. The feature will be available on many of Ford’s 2010 models and can limit teen drivers to a maximum speed of 80 mph (129 km/h), as well as sound a six-second chime every minute if the driver is not wearing a seat belt and limit the audio system’s volume. Called "MyKey," the parental control feature is found on a computer chip located in the teen’s car key. More than 5,000 US teens die each year in car crashes, and experts hope that this system will prevent young drivers from making dangerous decisions behind the wheel. More on the subject...

Juan Perón (1895)

Perón was President of Argentina from 1946 to 1955 and from 1973 to 1974. His populist appeal to the poor was enhanced by the charisma and work of his second wife, Evita. After her death in 1952, his popularity waned, and amidst increasing economic difficulties and labor unrest, he was deposed in a military coup in 1955.
